Birthdays and Holidays
Children in the foster care system face trials and tribulations that most of us cannot fathom. For many of these children, the holidays are not necessarily cheerful. Norfolk Friends of Foster Care is asking you to help bring a little hope and joy to the foster children we serve throughout Hampton Roads this holiday season by granting their holiday wishes!
In 2017, the Holiday Project was expanded to include foster children from Chesapeake and Portsmouth in addition to Norfolk. Thanks to our sponsors, we guaranteed that over 235 foster children received gifts during the holiday season, helping bring holiday cheer to kids who need it and alleviate pressures that the holidays can bring for both the children and foster parents.
This year, we hope to do even more!
How It Works:
1) Contact us at Holiday@NorfolkFFC.org or (757-227-4187) to get a foster child’s gift wish list – Each list has the Child’s name, age, and 2 to 3 items they would like to receive this holiday season.
2) Go shopping for gifts -New items only- of a total value of $65 to $70. -Please identify on the wish list the gifts purchased.
3) Bag and tag the gifts, with the gift tag provided on the wish list. Please paper clip the wish list to the gift and contact NFFC for pickup or deliver gifts to NFFC at 999 Waterside Dr. Suite 430, Norfolk, VA 23510, by December 7, 2018.
Unless otherwise specified on the wish list, we welcome wrapped gifts, but ask that you list gifted items on the wish list attached to the gift (New items only).
